Corrections and complaints
We try to get every fact right. When we get something wrong, we put it right in the open.
Tell us. Email support@theamateur.co.uk. Say which story, what's wrong and, if you can, a source that shows it.
What we do. We check what you've told us against the sources. If a story is wrong, we correct it and add a dated note at the end saying what changed. We don't quietly rewrite stories.
Complaints. If you think a story is inaccurate or unfair to you or your organisation, or uses your work without permission, email us with "Complaint" in the subject. We'll look into it and tell you what we've decided. If a story reports something said about you, you can ask us to add your response, and we'll add a fair summary of it to the story.
Takedown. If you think a story is inaccurate, unfair to you, or uses material (including an image) that you own without permission, email support@theamateur.co.uk with the story link and what's wrong. We'll look at it and, where needed, correct, update or remove it, adding a dated note to the story.
